There's been significant growth in the Patch from Scratch garden over summer.

Two vegie beds were planted out with sweet corn, squash, tomatoes, basil and salad greens, and already the family have enjoyed the benefit of home-grown produce.

Work is underway on the chook run to get it ready for the imminent arrival of some feathered friends, and Costa Georgiadis from Gardening Australia dropped by to lend a hand and build some compost bays.

Catch up with Costa, meet the Gordon family and hear about plans to transform their Sydney backyard in the series return of Gardening Australia this Saturday at 6.30pm AEST on ABC TV.

And keep up to date with all the feature stories on the Patch from Scratch in Organic Gardener magazine and on our facebook page.
