My ducks never show any interest in sitting on their eggs, so I put four duck eggs under a broody hen a month ago.
Only one hatched – and here she is, a couple of days old, with foster mum in background. I’ve put them off on their own for a while so the little duckling doesn’t get pecked or drowned by the other big chooks or ducks.
She’s a funny-looking thing, but mum doesn’t seem to mind.
