Gardens and plants are the subject of a new art exhibition, SIMON WEBSTER reports.

Paintings, watercolours and prints by 14 award-winning Victorian artists are about to go on show in a free exhibition at Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens.

Gardens traditional and wild, private and public, captured from a distance and in fine detail (in the form some contemporary botanical art) are all on display. Pictured is Cloudehill in Summer by Jo Reitze.

The Picture this … beautiful gardens, botanic wonders, spring at its best! exhibition is on at the Domain House Gallery, Dallas Brooks Drive, Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. Thursday November 7 to Sunday November 24. Gallery hours: Thursday 12pm-8pm; Friday to Sunday 11am-5pm. The gallery is closed Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
