Grow Italian or  Spanish lavender as hedges or in pots, adding colour to your garden and flavour to your cooking.

Likes: Full sun and dry summers.
Dislikes: Wet feet, high humidity and heavy frost.
When to plant/sow in zone:
How to start: Seeds or seedlings but commonly propagated from semi-ripe cuttings in late summer/autumn. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil.
How to grow: Trim bushes after flowering to keep compact. Water deeply during dry periods.
When to harvest: Cut flowers and hang to dry for pot pourri and scented sachets.
Pests and diseases: Aphids, whitefly and scale.
