Clean air does exist, and scientists have bottled it, reports SIMON WEBSTER.
They don’t make air like they used to. Well, not in many places, anyway. Researchers trying to find out exactly what damage we’ve done to our atmosphere since the industrial revolution have had to go to great lengths to find air untainted by the modern world.
Eventually they came across something very close to pristine, by collecting from the top of a 40-metre tower in the remote Amazon rainforest during the middle of the wet season, Treehugger reports.
Analysis of the air may lead to better climate modelling.
