Snow peas

Delicious snow peas are one of the most obliging plants to grow from seed. Just make sure you save some of your harvest for the kitchen!

Likes: Cool to warm conditions.
Dislikes: Hot weather; root disturbance.
When to plant/sow in a warm temperate zone: May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep
How to start: Install trellis or wires to support climbing stems. Sow seeds direct, 2–3cm deep, 7–15cm apart. Water deeply then allow soil to dry out before watering again.
How to grow: Increase watering after seed germinates.
When to harvest: Check plants every 2 days or so. Pick when the pods are young, tender and flat.
Pests and diseases: Birds, earwigs, slugs and snails.
