An organic community farm can be a lifesaver in a rough neighbourhood, SIMON WEBSTER reports.

It features Alemany Farm, a 4.5-acre, nonprofit, community-run organic plot in one of San Francisco’s most dangerous neighbourhoods.
Through the farm, the locals not only get to grow healthy, tasty food, but gain self-respect, a safe place to hang out and an education in organic growing.
